We’re looking for recent and soon-to-be Canadian university graduates to join our sales and system engineering teams.
The Cisco Sales Associates Program (CSAP) is a year-long, on-the-job training program aimed at giving top university graduates a fast track into positions that would usually take several years of experience to land. This year, we will recruit five Associate Sales Representatives (ASR) and five Associate Systems Engineers (ASE) into the program to work with veteran Account Managers and Systems Engineers in our Toronto headquarters.
Join @CiscoCanada on Wednesday, December 7 at 2:00 pm EST for a live TweetChat with @AlainChung and @SeeMcDoug . You’ll be able to ask questions to current and former CSAP students on Twitter by following #csap. UPDATE: Read the full TweetChat transcript on Storify
We believe this career development initiative is extremely unique within the IT industry. In addition to working with experienced Cisco Canada executives, successful applicants gain access to next generation technologies, collaborate with partners and customers around the globe and earn in-demand Cisco certifications. And unlike a typical internship program, successful applicants can expect to earn a very attractive salary along the way.
ASRs are mentored by our team of Account Managers, learning how to listen and work directly with customers to solve their complex business problems. For these positions, a technical background is not required. In fact, many of the most successful CSAP graduates now working full-time at Cisco Canada hold Bachelor of Arts degrees in programs such as Communications and English.
On the engineering side, ASEs will work on technical designs, solving customer challenges with Cisco and other legacy IT infrastructure already in place.
Throughout the on-the-job training program, ASRs and ASEs will shore up their soft skills with classes on presentation skills, selling techniques and time management.

According to a recent report from The Economist, a third of young graduates in Canada end up working low skilled jobs, a number which is second only to Spain among OCED countries. We think this has to change and with CSAP, we’ll play a role to reverse this trend.
So if you are a driven, passionate and highly motivated university graduate looking to find your place in the workforce, we want you to consider joining our family. A first job often is the most important in defining your career. We think Cisco Canada is a unique place to work and the CSAP program can help you move from academia to the business world.
But enough from me. Why not listen to what a current CSAP student has to say about the program? Alain Chung, an Associate Systems Engineer in CSAP, talks about how the program changed his life and why ambitious university grads who want to make an immediate impact on the world should apply.
The application deadline for CSAP is Friday, December 16, 2011, so please apply now!
